Round up

Today's drawing is a message to my car's tires: this is what round is supposed to look like. It's chock full of things that are round — none of them have gone flat, and they never will. Pay attention, tires.

For the birds

Today I used a new drawing book to sketch some silly birds. Expect more silly critters in the future, because these are fun.

Home sweet home

A doodle after a very long day of adventure and misadventure. Although I would like to still be away and exploring, it's good to be home.

River Song

Today's doodle has secret Doctor Who meaning. Well, not really secret, but at least a little obscure.

Librarianerdity

I love all the learning that I get to do at library conferences. So I drew this after a long day.

It's a Jeep thing

I'm sitting at the patio at a bar in Vancouver WA. This pretty tree inspired me to whip out my pens and notebook. And a Jeep is parked there too.

Sketchy cats

I tried to sketch my kitty in pastels, but she won't sit still and whenever she notices me she steps on what I'm doing.

Gray = hyena cat
Purple = snubbing cat
Blue = coy cat
Green = lumpy cat
Red = hydrocephalus cat

Rainbow without rain

I was inspired by the sunshiny day to draw a colorful pastel rainbow. I guess that's kinda ironic.

Paisley

I tried some paisley doodles today. They'd probably be better with color, but I don't feel like busting out colors.

Pastelling

More playing with the pastel chalks. Don't care for this one so much, but you can't win 'em all.

Blurrapple

Today I used pastel chalks to make an ethereal apple.

Stress. I has it.

Tomorrow's a big day, and I've been preparing for it and stressing about it for well over a week. I'm exhausted and grumpy and have had a headache for longer than I can remember. None of this has anything to do with today's doodle, except that this particular brand of curly doodle relaxes me in the making of and the looking at. Making the curls visually balanced makes me happy.

Bugging out

Today I felt like drawing some cartoony bugs. And a spider. I'm not sure if "bugs" encompasses spiders, as they aren't insects, but they're bug-like in their tiny creepiness.

Click, clack, moo

Today I sketched a cow with clothespin legs. It's a long and not very interesting story.

Left-Handed Doodle of The Night

I started this doodle later than I thought and it took longer than I thought. I started with a left-handed scribble and filled in the compartments with patterns from my doodle library.

Fit for a really lame princess

Today I doodled a fairly ugly castle-like thing.

Vertical destruction

Some vertically waving lines for your enjoyment. I guess they're technically vertical lines waving horizontally. But nobody likes science.

Overwrought

Today I spent way more time than I wanted drawing these eight mostly disappointing patterns.

Water, earth, and fire?

Today I doodled something, but I'm not sure what it is. Underwater plants? Sedimentary layers? Multiple spiky sunshines? No need to decide.

Grids and grids

Today I put a bunch of different squares in a bubbly doodle. It was kinda fun.

A study in purple, pink, and blue

I started a very elaborate doodle, but when it was about 4% done at 11pm, I changed my strategy. So now I have this assortment of colorful patterns in a random arrangement.

Galaxy of weird

Today I doodled some strange and frilly constellations. Or maybe they're flowers.

A through L, all fancy like

Today I drew the first half of the alphabet in a variety of experimental decorative styles. I would have kept going, but my hand cramped up. Also, I'm lazy.
