I'm not sure what this is, but it was a pain to make and it's kinda fun to look at.












It started out as a template with just the eyeball and some faint reddish veiny things, but that was boring so I pulled out my trusty black pens.

Day 65: Scouting Out My Impending Apartment

If all goes to plan, I'll be moving into my very own apartment in a couple of weeks. I'm reluctant to post this, because I don't want to jinx it, but I'm just too excited. So in honor of this new big thing, I made a list. (Actually, I've made many lists, and I'll be making many more). Day 64: Presidential Word Cloud

Yes, another Wordle. You try to make something new every single day of the year. This one is using the words in President Obama's first inaugural speech. 

Just for kicks, I tried doing a Sarah Palin speech (specifically, her keynote address to the National Tea Party Convention, or whatever those nuts decided to call their little Self-Congratulatory Celebration of Narrow-Minded, Hypocritical, Short-Sighted, Selfish, Unapologetic, Uninformed Bigots), but it kept crashing Wordle. I feel your pain, Wordle. It's okay for you to give up your job when it starts getting tough.

Day 63: Dewey Decimal Area Codes

So we all know I'm a nerd. I'm comfortable with that. I'm fascinated by both classification systems and symbolism, so sometimes my brain makes strange leaps, like this one. I've looked up the Dewey Decimal System equivalents for various area codes throughout the country. I got the idea when I first discovered that my area code, 425, leads to English grammar, and I thought that was appropriate. And since today is National Grammar Day, I'll proudly share this bit of nerdity with you all.

First of all, a quick primer in Dewey. It's divided into 10 basic sections under these broad headings:

000s - Generalities
100s - Philosophy & Psychology
200s - Religion
300s - Social Sciences
400s - Language
500s - Natural Sciences & Math
600s - Technology (Applied Sciences)
700s - The Arts
800s - Literature & Rhetoric
900s - Geography & History

Day 62: Left-Handed TV Characters

I'm not going to tell you what (ancient) TV show these characters are from, because then you would know exactly how lame these drawings are.



But at least they're left-handed drawings. I can remain content in the delusion that my drawings would totally rock if I used my dominant hand.

And in case you're trying to figure out who these drawings are vaguely representing, 3 and 10 are the same person, 6, 8, and 9 are the same person, and 4 and 5 are two failed attempts at the same person.

Day 60: A Book-on-Book Doodle

I tried something a little different this time, but I still don't really like it.



Maybe doodles just don't mix with the book pages. Or maybe I need to try color. Luckily, I have 305 things still to make this year.
