I have a big fat headache today and was having a hard time coming up with something to make. Then I remembered my old pal Wordle!
This word cloud is comprised of all the "quickie" daily horoscopes for Aries in February, according to Shine. I'm not saying I believe in astrology at all, but it's fun to read and gives me something to focus on each day for "embetterment" of myself. Today I'm supposed to pay more attention to my dreams. It's interesting to see what words pop up frequently in the word cloud, like Take, Go, and Drama. And the random juxtapositions are neat too - Unpredictable Senses is my favorite.
And I even figured out how to screen-capture it so you don't have to follow a link to see this one.

Day 38: Mini Poster of My Favorite Saying
I'm in the midst of tons and tons and still more tons of reading for grad school. I whipped up this little poster to remind me to keep things in perspective and not get bogged down in despair. This saying has helped me through many difficult times over the last several years, and I expect it will have more work to do in the future.
I would like to eventually re-do it with more interesting fonts and colors and a little more balance and contrast (it's not yet right to my eyes). But it's good for now. In fact, it's not just good - it's good enough.

Day 36: A Drink Without a Name
I haven't thought of a good name for this drink yet. I have, however, thought of many bad names for it.

This drink can be served hot or cold. Adjust amounts to taste.
1.5 oz applejack brandy
0.5 oz fireball whisky
Fill with chilled apple juice or hot apple cider.
I'm thinking of making a version with cream or ice cream (apple pie a la mode?).

Day 33: My Childhood Masterpiece
Today was a long, rough day. So I've taken a little time to revisit my childhood by drawing the thing I always used to draw for some reason. And I always drew it the same way.

Always the same sun with the same alternating rays and oddly shaped eyes and peeking smile. Always the same hills pocked with grassy patches. Always a puffy cloud. And always flowers and birds in odd numbers. Sometimes the path was dirt, sometimes stone, sometimes brick, and sometimes it was a creek instead of a path.
I don't know where this image came from or why I felt compelled to draw it so many times, in pencil, marker, crayon, chalk, or whatever I had on hand.
But it's comforting, and it was what I needed to make today.
