Day 157: Batten Down the Hatches

Today I have been spending the second day of the semester getting organized for all my classes. I have a folder for assignments, a folder for readings, and a folder for basic course info.

I have entered all assignments, quizzes, tests, and other due dates in my calendar.

I have collected all my textbooks and put notes inside with due dates for chapter readings.

I have posted my introductions to all three discussion forums, and I've made a cheat sheet to help me distinguish between the classes.

And I have made this lovely blog entry documenting it all with photos. Now it's time to read and read and read until it's time to go to work.

Day 156: Buca Pupwords

This might be my favorite iPhone app. Here I've tested it out using a picture of the stately Buca.

I can only use ten words, but I'd like to add so many more, like run and jump and conehead and toe and yellow dog and red dot and evil genius and hellhound and sweetheart, but this will do for now.

Day 155: Collage of Puppers

Today I made a collage of some of my favorite pictures of my puppies, Buca and Tulla.

I miss those wiggly little nutballs.

Day 154: Coloring Book

Sometimes you just need to buy a coloring book and go to town with a mojito. Today was one of those days.

Day 153: Doodle in a Sea of White

Today's make is a doodle in the middle of a 12"x12" piece of card stock.

Don't know why, but that's what my pen wanted to do.

Day 152: Skittlini

Unpacking boxes seems to never end. How'd I get so much stuff? Luckily, it's more tolerable when I take small breaks to invent drinks.

Say hello to the Skittlini. Or maybe the Skittle Fizzini. Homemade Skittles-infused vodka and Sprite Zero.

I've tasted the rainbow, and the rainbow tastes good.

Wait a minute. Rainbows and sprites and June, which is gay pride month. There must be some kind of awesome drink name in there somewhere. Maybe I can find it after a few more boxes.

Day 151: Could Be Really Good Or Really Bad

Today I filtered and bottled my cilantro-infused vodka. Cilantro is one of my favorite flavors and smells, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I'm afraid to try it, because the smell was so pungent, so green, that I almost yacked.

My tummy hasn't been happy the last couple days, so maybe the smell won't overwhelm me when I feel a little better. Until then, I have a pretty bottle of vodka, which may be tasty, or which may destroy the very fabric of time and my own fragile sanity with its awfulness.
